AMHA Grants & Scholarships -
Deadline for 4 of them is November 30th

The American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust (AMHECT) annually offers a total of 7 different grants & scholarships! If you didn’t know about these generous programs, please take the time to familiarize yourself with them so that you or someone you know can apply for these opportunities.
The deadline for the Harry Sebring Grant and the Elberta Honstein Grant have been extended from October 31st to November 30th, the same deadline as for the Ellen DiBella Western Dressage Scholarship & the Van Schalk Classical Dressage Scholarship.

2023 Convention Schedule and Registration NOW AVAILABLE!

Register Before December 1st For The Best Rate
|

The AMHA will be holding their Annual Meeting, Election, Awards and First Quarter Board Meeting in conjunction with the 2023 UPHA National Conference being held January 4-7, 2023, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld hotel.
It is imperative that you register on or before December 1, 2022, to avoid additional fees! It must be postmarked on or before December 1, 2022, OR it must be received by UPHA via fax by that same date. UPHA’s fax number is (859) 255-2774. (DO NOT mail or fax the AMHA Office – all registrations for convention must go through the UPHA Office.) The Registration Form can be downloaded by clicking HERE.
There will be a plethora of meetings, awards, forums, and fun! Be sure to check out the Schedule of Events which you can locate by clicking HERE.
The deadline for the hotel room block is December 12, 2022, but rooms at the discounted rate of $175 (before taxes) could sell out prior to that deadline – so book now! To book your hotel room, click HERE.

Morgan Specific Events:
There is quite a bit going on during the Conference so if you are interested in seeing all the Morgan related activities separate out from the schedule, visit the AMHA website by clicking HERE. You will be able to see all the Morgan specific activities including which meetings are OPEN vs CLOSED, when each AMHA Award is presented and all about election voting and the Annual Membership Meeting.
AMHA Honor Awards
AMHA is excited to honor so many talented and worthy individuals and horses within our Morgan community! The AMHA Honor Awards listing as well as the venue for which it will be presented can be found on the AMHA website by clicking HERE.

Star Awards
The 2022 AMHA STAR Awards have been officially announced and can be viewed by clicking HERE.
STAR Awards will be presented at the AMHA Awards Luncheon on Saturday, January 7. However, STAR Awards are ONLY presented to those winners that notify Programs Manager, Nikki Dumas ahead of time (no later than Friday, December 9) and submit a photo to her for the awards slide show presentation. You can reach Nikki at nicole@morganhorse.com or on her direct dial line at AMHA of (859) 448-5109. Remember – You must notify Nikki no later than the end of the business day on Friday, December 9 and you must email a photo by that same date as well. AMHA will only present the highpoint awards and divisional high point awards at the Luncheon. You must register and purchase a lunch ticket to attend.
Open Competition Awards & Medallions
The 2022 Open Competition Awards are currently being processed and will be posted on the AMHA Website shortly. When available, you will be able to view the winners by clicking HERE.
Like the AMHA Star Awards, the Open Competition and Medallion awards will be presented at the AMHA Awards Luncheon on Saturday, January 7. AMHA to Offer LARGE R Judges School in Conjunction with UPHA Conference
|
|
There will be an AMHA Judges School for USEF licensed Morgan judges at the Conference. Participation is limited to those judges that ALREADY hold a Large R Morgan card. The school will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 7 from 1:30 PM to 5 PM and on Sunday morning, January 8 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Judges must attend both sessions in full to receive proper clinic credit. You must register for the judges’ school separately from the conference registration. Deadline to register is Friday, December 16, 2022. You will find the itinerary and registration form on the AMHA website by clicking HERE.

The 2023 AMHA Board of Directors election is currently underway, and it is imperative that you vote even though your Region has an uncontested race. AMHA Bylaws require a minimum number of votes to be cast to be accepted and validated. Your vote counts!
