"Full Circle

20 years ago, I competed at my very first Morgan breed show, Far West Regional. I showed LittleWood Rio Bravado in Trail and Reining.

My mom came with me to manage the kids as they were 7, 5, and barely 1. I knew no one, except the legends wrote about in The Network. Rollie was very kind as were others.

Just got home from the Oregon Morgan Classic. I showed a 3rd generation, home raised granddaughter of LittleWood Rio Bravado in her first show. LittleWood Wild Honey was an absolute rockstar. She scored well and placed in classes with similar age horses.

To complete the circle, I wore the same vest my Aunt Edna made for me to show in 20 years ago (and received many compliments on it).

20 years later, it was great to see the many friends and especially the friends that have become like family."

"Oregon Morgan Classic 2026!

What a year this show was, I am so proud of Flame and all of our accomplishments and a big thank you to Emily Park from Silvertail for helping me with western dressage and a big thank you to my mom and the rest of my family for supporting me. We started the show off Wednesday with western dressage and this year was our first year of Basic and including loping into our patterns. We earned a 5th, 4th, and then after reading the judges comments we won our class! We then earned 3rd out of 5 in our sport horse mares in hand class later that night. Thursday was trail day and although we got 4th and 5th I could not be happier with her and our scores of a 71 and 72. Friday was a bit of an off day for us with ranch riding as we were both pretty tense but she still tried her heart out. Saturday was an amazing day as we won our ranch rail class in a steep class of amazing horses!! We have been working very hard towards this with constant second places the last year and I was beyond excited! Later I had the honor again of presenting the flag again while Kiersten sang the National Anthem! I also had the great opportunity to work for Julie Adams during the show and learned so so much! Thank you Julie! Until next year OMC and hopefully a couple other shows as well!"

Loved being with Sandi and Oregon Dun EZPZ aka EZ at the Oregon Morgan Classic better known as OMC. Sandi always amazes me with her ability to get the good out of horses she owns and works with. I was a very proud "grandma" of EZ's loved watching him with Sandi's guidance to win his Futurity Yearling class and then went on to win the Morgan Yearling colt class. His next class was the Morgan Champion Gelding class and he won that. Then his first ever Sport horse class and he didn't place, it was open to much older horses, but he did really good with only a few bobbles. I almost forgot that he placed 5th in an 18 & over showmanship class. On to the Morgan Futurity Sweepstakes which was against all the Futurity winners and he was 3rd. I almost forgot, he placed 5th in an 18 & over showmanship class. One of the nice things about this youngster is he pretty much takes it all in stride. He ate well, slept well and was eager to hop in the trailer to see where he was going next. What a great 4 days and got to see a lot of old friends from my many years being a Morgan breeder. One of the friendliest shows to go to.

"It’s been a while since I’ve shown at OMC and it was still just as fun as I remember it! A big thank you to the show committee for all your hard work to make the show feel so welcoming and fun! It’s such an easygoing show where you get to hangout with the best people! PNW friends, be sure to put this show on your list for next year!

Chally and I had a great show! From pleasure classes, patterns and even having a go at the carrot obstacle course, Chally, as always, was game and ready for the challenge! Everyday I smile at how lucky I am to have such an amazing horse that I can do whatever with. We placed well in all our classes, coming home with wins in the Stallions and Geldings, AMHA Hunt Seat Medal, and Reserve Champion in the Ladies. It was bittersweet knowing that this was the last local show I competed in the medal, but I am super excited to compete in it one last time at Nationals.

Congratulations to the whole TCS crew on an amazing show, some great rides happened and fun memories made together! Now, more hard work continues as we work our way to Regionals in 35 days! "

"Our trip to OMC this year was a little different! Our wonderful Mickey had some feet issues so ended up being a spectator... But is on the mend! Our Finley was a good boy! He ended up winning show champion stallion and winning the MHAO futurity breeders cup! SUPER PROUD of our little guy!! I was so glad to get spend time with my girls and family as well!! But my Jacob was missing! We missed him!"

Once again we want to thank Eduardo Zavala Sanchez of Blackburn Training for taking one of our Kerry Morgans from the beginning to the winner's circle. Eddie truly understands our horses and brings out the best in them.

Kerry I Am! is a 2 year old colt who was showing his first show in harness.

We had a wonderful time at this years Oregon Morgan Classic!

Reba (Raindrops on Roses) and I won our three Western Dressage tests in basic and level 1, Adult Showmanship, Sport Horse Under Saddle Open, Road Hack, and Versatility!

We also ended up Reserve in the Sport Horse Championship and Champion in the Hack Championship! We’ve never tried out the Road Hack before and are still fairly new to the Sport Horse division and Reba is absolutely loving them both. She was less than thrilled to be back to Western Pleasure for the first half of the Versatility class but perked right up after the tack change.

We had fun in the trail classes too scoring our personal best with a 74 and a 73 1/2!

Love this mare and her willingness to try! She finished out the show carrying Quaid Gamboa for leadline

As always we had a great time with our Silver Mesa family and our horse show friends!

There were so many great moments at the Oregon Morgan Classic, Eugene, Oregon these past 5 days. Watching my bestie and her kiddo and their amazing mare rock the Pro/Am together. Supporting an old friend fulfilling a bucket list dream and getting recognized by the judge for her amazing attitude. Celebrating a beautiful young mare finding the perfect home. Staying up to midnight to sing happy birthday. Hanging out with old friends and making new ones.

And through it all Dave was the bestest boy and was amazing in all our Carriage Driving classes. I’m so grateful for this boy coming into my life 3 years ago and I’m thrilled at the progress we keep making, especially in the past year. My favorite drives were our cones runs where he stayed forward and centered and did everything I asked.

Thank you again and again Megan Sibiga and Leslie Arnould for seeing the potential, bringing us together and being there for us every step of the way!

Shout out to our OMC support crew: Leslie, Dustin, Ash, Patricia, Kathie, Kathleen, Jaimie, Kris. It truly take a village!!

Pro pics to come. We were rocking and rolling all show and I didn’t get many of my own.

Congrats and THANK YOU to the Oregon Morgan Classic show committee. Everything was excellent! (Except the dust which you had no control over and wasn't that bad.) Great staff and judge, good taco bar, yummy desserts, super welcome baskets, etc. Everyone I talked to had a great time. And THANK YOU to the exhibitors for supporting this fun show. Be certain to put it on your calendar for next year.

Last week at the Oregon Morgan Classic, Eugene, Oregon Show with Grand Finale Stables, Ashlyn and Rudy won the western equitation championship! Congratulations!! Ashlyn has done so well with Rudy so far, and he's still just getting started. I can't wait to see them at Morgan Medallion Classic in Vegas! Thank you @ Megan Gallagher and Lindsay Naas for bringing this superstar pair together!

"SUPER proud of both Rocky & Chance!! Rode Intro tests & Basic 3 & 4 in entirety with both horses for the first time at Oregon Morgan Classic horse show & had great scores! My goal was to not go off pattern & score in the 60’s so mission accomplished!! Rocky & I actually got a 71.25 on Intro test 3!! Chance also stepped up today & was game! Still have some things to work on but over the moon happy with our progress over the past month in practicing these new to us tests. Thank you Leslie Arnould & Lenore Smith for all your help! And to Dustin Arnould for adverting a last minute chap crisis"

"VDF E-nchanted Ticket (Firecrest E-Ticket x Dream Catcher) found a new love for the tough ranch horse division at OMC. Mo (aka SharkE) placed in the middle for the Ranch Riding (1st pattern class ever) and a healthy 2nd place in a deep Ranch Rail. Thank you everyone who encouraged this transition into this new division for us, we love it. A huge thank you to Kathy Lewis, Joanne Hiltwein, and Larry Stirling for making these beautiful custom chinks for me"

"Kyla and Rhythm had a super special show last week at the Oregon Morgan Classic, Eugene, Oregon Show with Grand Finale Stables.

In 2022 Kyla received Rhythm as a surprise birthday present for her 11th birthday at this show. Since then they have had countless training days and many shows with LOTS of ups and downs.

Last week at this very same show, they came back together and went UNDEFEATED in both Hunt Seat Equitation and Pleasure Junior Exhibitor, bringing home two championships!

To top it all off, they won the High Point Award for the show!

Very special show for them! Congratulations!! Thank you Megan Gallagher and Allison Gillard for helping make all these wonderful memories!"

"Oregon Morgan Classic.....12 horses, from 2 yr old Futurity kids to seasoned veterans! 18 WD rides, 9 trail horses (In Hand to open), 4 ranch horses, 3 w pl horses, and 1 sport horse! Whew, WHAT a week! Several "firsts" and "personal bests"! Highlights are:

Raindrops on Roses and Kyndle had a stellar week! Her and Kyndle won all 3 of their WD tests with great scores! They dabbled in Road Hack for the first time with great success, winning the qualifier and Championship. They also won the sport horse open and ended Reserve in the Championship!

TFF Devon had really nice goes in Trail to end up Res Champion! Who knew this mare would take to trail?! She also won Sport Horse mares and ended Res Champion. Devon put in consistanly pretty rides to win W Pl Ladies qualifier and Res Ch Ladies W Pl..

DMS Yankee and Kiersten are improving their teamwork for solid rides and scores in ranch riding , trail and western dressage, breaking into the 70's!

Mia-Mia Lockdown and Kayla won their Showmanship class, rode to good ribbons in Western dressage and had a nice solid ride in their first western pl rail class! Marco hasn't been an easy one but Kayla doesnt waiver!

Moonlit Hush Money and Kim got back into their w/t/l groove for 2 good amateur w pl classes. On a whim, we threw Rev into the Pro Am class as a hunter....hes SUPER CUTE hunt! Lol

Apogee Tequkla Talkin and Courtney are figuring things out together! They scored a 75.5 in w/t trail! Courtney competed in her first w/t/l ranch classes and even the crazy 9 horse Pro Am class! Btw....we need to copy medallion and make it a charity or $ class somehow!

The baby babies......

Wheatland Baileys Cream (luna) performed very well and took her first show in stride with ease and calmness! Bella even got to show her in the w/t opportunity ranch riding! This filly is a star ranch horse in the making!

Good Golly Miss Dolly won her Futurity 2 yr old sport/western type, finished 4th/12 in In Hand Trail, 4th in Sport Horse mares and ended the show Res Ch Futurity Sweepstakes Sport/Western type! She's looking to be a beautiful 3 yr old western prospect for next yr!

NF Vaquero and Jaclyn got some In Hand show experience together as well, for nice placings in 2 yr old Futurity Sport/western and In Hand Trail. These two will have lots of future fun together!

I showed our 2 person horses. Oregon NRG showed well and got some great experience. Really looking forward to his saddle debut next yr.

NF Legendary William gave me good rides in Basic WD for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd I think . As well as a respectable score in Ranch Riding Open.

He also earned High Point Futurity, which is cumulative over the 4 yrs. Hes an honest "money earner" which isn't too common in our morgan world!

As always, we ate like vacationing at a resort thanks to our resident chef Michael Christensen ! Greatful for our wonderful barn family, and THANK YOU to the show committee and helpers that make OMC so great!! "
