Join us for the 65th Annual PNW Morgan Horse Show! This year due to the circumstances at the facility, the show will not be charging a post entry fee. However, to help our new secretary compile her database, please send in entries as soon as everyone is comfortable and able.
Although the show may be indoors or outdoors depending on construction at the Tacoma Unit, be sure to book your rooms at the Shilo Inn Tacoma before July 21 to lock in our discounted show rate!
We understand that there are a lot of questions this year, so please feel free to contact show management (Patty and Kaitlin Lebon) at (425) 239-4479 or
kmlebon@gmail.com
.
Please watch for updates, as we will pass along info as soon as we receive it from the Tacoma Unit!
We want to be available for people and would rather speak in person than let misunderstandings get in the way of everyone having a wonderful time! This show has so many wonderful memories from the past 65 years...
we look forward to making more this year!"

Disaster Preparedness for
Horse Owners Webinar
|
|
Date:
August 14, 2019
Time:
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM PDT
Event Description:
EVERY DAY DISASTERS. Every day, large animal disasters occur somewhere in the world. It is all about getting the PEOPLE and their ANIMALS out of a predicament SAFELY, and preventing the repercussions from getting worse. Most communities do not have the resources and personnel to deploy to save animals in the first minutes, hours or days after a disaster – so owners and stakeholders should have their own plans to deal with disasters. Planning ahead can save you in the long run when it comes to replacing valuable resources and livestock.
The only thing more difficult than planning for a disaster, is trying to explain why you didn’t plan for it!
Join us for this 60 minute webinar with world renowned expert, Dr. Rebecca (Gimenez) Husted. She will be reviewing insurance, legal responsibility of owners, hazards, how to be prepared, disaster planning, what to do in an emergency, and much more! Webinar will be followed by live Q&A session.
UNABLE TO WATCH LIVE??
Register anyway and we will send you the recording to watch later.

Oregon Equine Summit
|
|
The Oregon Equine Summit is a signature event of the Oregon Horse Council. This program will move annually to showcase various locations in Oregon, having a customized agenda for each location. Our goal is to provide an avenue for positive conversations and education to occur with those involved in the equine industry. The solution focused keynotes, breakouts, and networking sessions will blend together equestrians from the north, south, central, east, and west part of Oregon, as well as likely neighboring states. You may be sitting in a keynote with a top breeder, a team roper, a trainer, and a trail rider - we encourage you to build your network and learn more about the various viewpoints that horse loving people have in our area!
Schedule:
Friday, October 18th, will launch with an afternoon "Build Your Business" workshop. This course will provide education from professionals on business planning (whether you are just launching or want to expand your business), latest information on business/equine insurance, tips to make sure you are legally covered, and the newest tricks to utilize social media.
Friday evening will see people congregate for networking over fantastic appetizers, a tri-tip dinner, and dessert. This will be followed by a town hall forum featuring the regions elected officials. Following opening statements, pre-submitted questions will be asked from the audience along the topics land-use, water rights, transportation, small business taxation, and more. This evening will also feature information tables from many of our sponsors and weekend speakers.
Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20, we will be offering the only Eastern Oregon course on Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue with world renowned expert, Dr. Rebecca (Gimenez) Husted. Primary attendees are fire fighters, sheriff posse's, search and rescue volunteers, ranchers, equine trainers, and large animal owners.
On the other side of the convention hall, Saturday
will be filled with valuable keynote speakers and breakout sessions on wild horses, equine nutrition, agri-tourism, herd management, succession planning, increasing your facility profit, and more!!
