Gratitude for faculty

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, faculty unanimously approved a motion to formally support SAC's request that the staff parental leave policy be reviewed and amended immediately to better align with the faculty policy. A special thank you to Lesley Lavery, who introduced the motion and followed up on the status during the Dec. 13 meeting, and to the other faculty who submitted the motion: Erik Davis, Karin Vélez, Karin Aguilar-San Juan, I-Chun Catherine Chang, Susanna Drake, Cari Gillen-O’Neel, Arjun Guneratne, Sumeet Patwardhan and Kari Shepherdson-Scott.

Wage Transparency

At our Dec. 6 meeting, SAC agreed unanimously to collaborate on working with Deb Ekeren, Director of HR, and Patricia Langer, VP of Finance & Administration, to educate the larger staff community as a whole on pay grades, wages, and titles throughout campus; how compa-ratios fit into these structures; and helping employees understand why their information appears as it does in 1600 Grand. We continue to welcome your questions and concerns on these topics!
