Hello Fellow TWIGS!

A beloved tradition at AHS is the teacher appreciation luncheon. On the last day of the Fall Semester, TWIGS transforms a classroom into a beautiful setting and families provide a buffet lunch of homemade food to celebrate our beloved AHS teachers and staff. This year the luncheon will take place on Friday December 15th @ 12:30 pm and our theme is “Teachers Light the Path to Bright Futures”

It takes the help of many parents to make this tradition come alive each year and there are many different ways parents can help. Please check out the options below and consider helping in some or multiple ways.

Volunteer Time: Setting up, serving or cleaning up for the event. Learn more through this Staff Appreciation Lunch Volunteer Sign-Up

Donate Decorations: Decorations for the event can be purchased through this Amazon Wish List. Donations must be delivered to the address listed in the wish list or dropped off at AHS by December 1st.

Provide Food or Drink: Sign-up to bring/make food for the event through this Staff Appreciation Lunch Food Sign-Up. Meals will need to be delivered to the school on December 15th between 11:30am-12:00 pm as lunch is served promptly at 12:30 pm and we have very limited capacity to heat or re-heat and store food. Other food can be dropped off at school on Thursday December 14th.

Donate Money:  Towards a small gift for each staff member to be given on the day of the event. This year we are hoping to purchase a small bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar through Durango Olive Oil Company (they are being very generous in giving us a special discount) and a small gift card to Bread. In past years, we have been able to raise approximately $20 per staff member to facilitate the purchase of a heartfelt local gift. To donate money please donate through the AHS Donation Page and choose “staff appreciation luncheon.”

Provide Gratitude for a Teacher:  During the luncheon a heartfelt written expression of gratitude is read to each teacher. Learn more through the Staff Appreciation Lunch Gratitude Sign Up. Expressions of Gratitude must be done no later than December 8th.

Thanks for considering how you can help make this tradition continue for AHS Staff. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact [email protected]
