School Board Election Update
The deadline for candidates to file for the Republic School District's Board of Education election ended on January 19. Two seats were available to be filled, and only two candidates filed. Therefore, an election will not be needed as the two candidates that filed will be sworn in as members of the Board of Education in April during a reorganization meeting. These two candidates are Anne Buchanan and incumbent, Todd Wojciechowski.
District Internet Outage Friday
On Friday, January 22 there will be an internet service outage across the district starting at 4:00 p.m. This outage is to allow our IT Department to perform some upgrades to the fiber optic line that handles our internet connection. Although there will not be internet service while the upgrade is performed, district phones will still be operable and employees will be able to login to desktop computers and work off-line, if needed. The outage should last 30 minutes to a few hours.

Request to Complete Research Process
The Republic School District encourages educational research by advance degree candidates, agencies and institutions of higher learning. As a reminder, all research projects (including those from external candidates) to be conducted in the schools must have prior approval by the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services and the Director of Professional Learning and Instructional Support. The document found HERE identifies the forms/documents that must be submitted and describes procedures of the approval process. This can also be accessed by contacting your building administrator. Also, don't forget to submit a final product to Dr. Yonke.
