Employee COVID19 Vaccine Clinic March 17 at RMS
President Biden has implemented a directive to allow those working in the education field the immediate opportunity to become vaccinated for COVID19 through the federal pharmacy program. This means that all district employees are currently eligible to sign up to receive a vaccine through any of the federal pharmacy program partners like Walmart, Hyvee, etc. A full list of partners can be found at https://vaccinefinder.org/. Currently, the vaccines available in Missouri that are not part of this program (through Cox and Mercy) will not be available to district employees until March 15.
Those who signed up to receive their vaccine through the district should have received an email from Josey McPhail yesterday with instructions for how to sign up for our onsite COVID19 vaccine clinic in partnership with Jordan Valley Health Centers. That clinic will take place in the main gym at RMS on March 17 from 12-4pm. Those who did not receive that email or who would like to sign up and haven't yet, follow the directions below. This is a clinic only for district employees.
Step 1: In an effort to make this a paperless clinic we ask you to please visit https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator/ or call 877-435-8411 to register and get your 8-10 digit Patient ID Number. You will need that number to schedule your appointment below.

No Tax Levy Increase Bond Issue, April 6, 2021
To address the upcoming growth in our community, academic needs of our youngest learners and the safety of our students and employees; Republic School District is proposing a no tax levy increase bond issue on the April 6, 2021 election ballot. The following projects are part of this proposal:
- A new Republic Early Childhood Center (EC) with attached high wind shelter on district owned land at the corner of Hines and Hampton.
- A gymnasium/high wind shelter at Schofield Elementary, the only building that does not have a gym.
- Funds to acquire property for a future new school building in 4-5 years.
These projects are estimated to cost $16 million and to be completed in the fall of 2022. Regardless of the bond issue passing or failing, the tax levy will not change from its current rate of just over $4.15. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS!

Reporting Positives & Quarantines During Spring Break
To provide our administrators and nurses a reprieve during Spring Break, we ask that all positive COVID19 cases and quarantines that surface from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12 through 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 22 be reported by completing the appropriate form found at the following links:
If needed, an administrator or nurse will be in touch on Monday, March 22. All positive cases received will be contact traced upon returning from break.
Also, positive cases will not be reported daily during Spring Break. A full report from March 12-22 will be shared on March 22. Thank you for your understanding!

 Kindergarten Enrollment Feb 16-March 12
Attention incoming Republic School District Kindergarten families! It's time to complete your child's online enrollment (open February 16-March 12) and schedule a Kindergarten screening appointment for the 2021-2022 school year!  It's Time for Health Risk Assessments (HRAs)
We've had a great start to our HRA's and there's still time to sign up!!!
A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) helps you identify personal strengths and weaknesses. It explains current risks and outlines preventive steps to improve your health. The Biometrics screening includes an assessment of your blood pressure, height, weight, waist and hip measurement, body mass index (BMI), venous blood test for total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose. Participant results are confidential. Participation is FREE with the option to add additional tests for a fee. You MUST SIGN UP ONLINE using your CoxHealth Express account.  Preschool Enrollment March 27
Republic Early Childhood Center will register preschool students for the 2021-2022 school year on Saturday, March 27th starting at 8:00 a.m. We will be registering students on a first come, first serve basis using an online form.

Elementary Virtual Learning Sign Up
 Attention elementary families interested in 100% virtual learning for the 2021-22 school year! CLICK HERE for details about signing up for this option by March 22. Those wanting to participate in seated learning do not need to complete the form. RMS & RHS students wanting to participate in virtual learning will sign up to do so during normal scheduling processes.

 FEMA Safe Room Information
With severe weather season approaching, we wanting to provide the below reminders regarding the FEMA Safe Room located at Sweeny Elementary (720 N. Main, Republic).
SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS FOR THOSE IN KINDERGARTEN AND OLDER WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN THE FEMA SAFE ROOM IS OPEN.
When is the FEMA Safe Room open for public use?
This facility's main purpose is to protect students and staff during school hours, but outside of school hours (before 8:00 a.m. and after 3:45 p.m.) the FEMA Safe Room will be open to the public during tornado warnings issued by Republic Emergency Management and/or the National Weather Service. It can hold up to 1,454 individuals.
What is the official notification that a watch or warning has been issued?
The district will be utilizing Republic Emergency Management and the National Weather Service to identify official tornado warnings.
Are animals allowed?
Only certified aid animals will be permitted inside the FEMA Safe Room, and proper identification must be shown before entering. Owners will be responsible for the care and actions of aid animals.

 Summer School Details Coming Soon!
We're beginning to get a few questions about summer school 2021, and we're EXCITED that you're asking! While we can tell you that we WILL have seated summer school, we're still working on the details.
Summer school leaders will begin communicating with teachers about applying to teach classes soon, and student enrollment information will be distributed the week after spring break!

Free COVID19 Testing for Employees on Campus
Free COVID19 testing continues to be available to district employees Monday-Friday during school hours that exhibit two or more symptoms OR those wanting to possibly test out of quarantine.

Innovation Summit PROPOSALS NEEDED!
Submit your Breakout Proposal and/or Roundtable Proposal by March 21, 2021, for GOCSD's Innovation Summit. You are welcome to submit multiple proposals on different topics. Presenters will be notified in April, and at the event receive an exclusive Innovator Bag of Swag, that includes a book from a Keynote speaker or an Innovator T-Shirt.
All proposals will be evaluated by our committee using this Scoring Guide. To get started, review our Proposal Writing Tips and list of Hot Topics. We will be including a MOCanvas Strand in the program, instead of having a separate MOCanvas event. The Hot Topics list includes some Canvas related topics.
You can use the guides below as a resource when planning your session.
- Breakout Session Planning Guide: These 45-minute sessions are a combination of a lecture, featuring audience participation and interaction with the presenter and/or hands-on activities. They may include multiple presenters.
- RoundTable Session Planning Guide: This is a small group of participants with a facilitator, gathering in an informal setting for an in-depth discussion on a particular topic for 45 minutes.
At this point, we are planning for a seated event, but will reevaluate in the Spring if needed. This is a great opportunity to represent your District at a premiere conference and share your innovative and effective strategies, programs and practices.

Employee Children Enrollment
Employees who...
reside outside of the Republic School District (non-resident) boundary that would like to enroll their student(s) in our district. A new form needs to be submitted every school year.
OR
live within the Republic School District boundary, but desire their student(s) to attend an elementary site other than the building boundary in which you live. A new form needs to be submitted every school year.
