Out with the Old, In with the New
What a Fluster Cluck!
The beer with the name you're eager to shout across the tap room, after a couple of glasses of Pants Off, is finally on line. "This one-off, one-of-a-kind seasonal packs a fruit-forward punch," Janell says. And that's no wonder: peaches, apricots, nectarines, and strawberries combine to give this light summer ale a full fruit mouth with a rhubarb finish. With an IBU of just 17, there's not much hop flavor here, but we might suggest that hop-lovers blend this ale with one of our 3 IPAs.

We cleaned out the freezers to make room for the fruit these blossoms will produce!

Ripe Marshmallows
Marshmallows are always our earliest crop. We've sold about 130 advance tickets to harvest marshmallows, and the advance number is usually around 15% of total attendance. Current weather forecasts call for a cold weekend, especially Sunday, but marshmallow harvesters know that the season is short -- two days -- and they've have been known to pick in mittens when it's cold. If you're working Sunday, layer up.

When I Work
All Farmhands should have received an invitation from Kate to join the GCF When I Work scheduling system. If you haven't already done so, please log into that system and fill in as much information as you can, especially the days when you're not available, so we can build the schedule accordingly. If you have trouble navigating the system, there's a video tutorial here. The April schedule is up now.

Note: The work schedule is no longer available through our website; it's accessible only on When I Work. If you're having trouble setting up a When-I-Work account, give me a call and I'll walk you through it. 540-554-207.

   Brewery News

Beyond the Beltway
The third of four contract brews from Beltway Brewing arrived today -- 64 kegs of Session all together.

New Brew
The Winter Ale has kicked, and the Sweet Potato Stout is down to its last pint. Their departure makes room for the long-awaited Fluster Cluck, a red four-fruit celebration that manages to suggest the flavor of rhubarb even though it has no rhubarb in it.

Whiskey Barrel Beers
Two of our new beers are busy extracting the flavor of bourbon from used whiskey barrels: a whiskey barrel peach and a barley wine, which is a beer with wine-level Abv. Both beers should be ready for release some time this summer.
