Bluemont Shamrock Run
Notwithstanding the weekend forecast, which is calling for a repeat of last year's wintery conditions for the Shamrock Run, it is beginning to feel like spring around here. Apricots are blooming on the farm, and a few apple trees have set blossoms along the road up to the vineyard. And the emu who usually lives by the Roosteraunt has established new quarters in the hops -- just because it's spring and the forces of nature are confusing her again.

Events this weekend:
The Bluemont Shamrock 5K (or 10K), Saturday
Dirt Farm Oyster Festival, Saturday after the run
Wine and Cookies, Saturday and Sunday -- a nd Jennifer Shailor might have her baby!

Tastings Saturday
Jenna Shapiro and Cory Kaisnoff, 9/25 wedding
Laura Malament and Mike Dreyfus, 9/24 wedding
Shannon Viverette and Chris Hurt, 11/11 wedding

Tastings Sunday

After Party Saturday
Shamrock runners will be climbing the mountain for free tastings Saturday between 10:30 and 12:30. They may bring their cheering sections with them. Oysters will be provided by Nomini Bay Oyster Ranch, and Capital Celtic will be playing traditional Irish jigs and reels.

Pants Off Is Up
Our new double IPA goes out in these 10-oz tulip glasses to minimize chances that pants will come off on the premises. ABV: 9%. IBU: 108 -- that's really high. Pants off will be joined by Fuster Cluck as soon as the Winter Ale kicks -- should be a red-letter day!

The green "No farms, no beer" tee shirts are in.
