Hey everyone!

   I just graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2015 with a marketing degree and spent the last year in Charlotte, NC working for a company called Red Ventures (a sales and marketing company). I started out in phone sales and worked my way into a management role where I
managed a team of sales consultants. I gained lots of invaluable experience on the sales floor, but I realized over the past year that I wanted to focus my efforts towards marketing and events promotions.

   I am excited to join the Bluemont Vineyard team and help grow our
brand, overall experience, as well as our wine club! I look forward to meeting everyone soon!

More Foggy Bottom Running

   Bluemont Vineyard is participating in the 2016 Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon Winery Challenge. Our team is already 5 people strong, and we’re looking for more runners, joggers, and walkers to join us! There is a discount code for the first 8 runners who sign up, so first come, first served to get half off the registration fee! Bluemont Vineyard Comes Down the Hill

   This week we got our license to sell Bluemont Vineyard wine in the farm market. There will be a display case near the front door, so parents can grab a bottle for later as they herd their children to the car. We'll also be carrying MTO kombucha in the market, along with kale chips from LAJ Foods in Leesburg.

   The asparagus is coming in nicely now. We're offering asparagus bouquets and chocolate-dipped strawberries for Mother's Day. 

   The strawberry fields are full of blossoms and young berries, so if we get some sunshine next week, we should be able to start picking in the middle of the month.

Now Serving Seven Days a Week

   This week we shifted to an all-week schedule, so people who love Tuesdays now have a place to come and celebrate. Four groups came in on Tuesday this week -- we're off to a good start!

   Strawberries and Saignee both Saturday and Sunday -- free chocolate-dipped strawberries for moms -- non-moms pay $2.

   Food Truck Fridays will start tomorrow: Saffron Gourmet Truck.

Taylor and Morgan Hold Down the Fort

   Everyone was at the Craft Brewing Conference in Philadelphia on Thursday, except Taylor and Morgan Hammer, who is back from college life at Costal Carolina. Morgan was having a Straw Ale / Tart Cherry half-and-half, with a few cider donuts on the side. "Are those doughnuts good even with beer?" I asked her. "No," she said. "I just really like junk food."
 
   Here's Morgan with the new refrigerator -- the one that wouldn't fit through the kitchen door until Bruce took off the door frame.
