December FLITE-funded Program Spotlight:

Music in Our Schools Program

Since 2006, FLITE has helped with the  cost   of renting instruments to enable students to participate in T/E's music programs. Because of this program, these students are not only able to learn how to play an instrument of their choosing but are able to positively contribute to the performing groups in their schools.
The students also gain self-confidence and develop a sense of teamwork to carry into other aspects of their lives. Participation in the T/E music programs introduces and reinforces listening skills, math skills, memorization techniques, and performance etiquette.
A student can be recommended for the program based on an articulated desire or recognition that participation in the music program would benefit the student. This year, there are 30 students benefiting from the Music in Our Schools Program.
