Dear OLG Families,

I hope that this email finds you well, enjoying your families and time together.

Today I am sharing with you some staffing news for the incoming school year, including a middle school change, and a new hire in primary grades.

Mrs. Kunst, middle school science teacher and 6th grade homeroom teacher, has announced her departure from OLG after three years in our community, to better meet the needs of her family. Mrs. Kunst helped to strengthen and enrich our science program, and challenged our students to grow and thrive as young scientists and learners. We thank her for her service, time and commitment to OLG. As she did not get to say a proper goodbye, please see the message below from Mrs. Kunst directly. We wish her well in all of her future endeavors.

Dear Students, Your enthusiasm and eagerness to explore the world of science made every day a rewarding experience for me as a teacher. I will truly miss our spirited discussions, the laughter that filled my classroom, and the bonds we've formed throughout the years. As I embark on a new chapter in my teaching journey, I will hold the memories we made together in my heart. The law of conservation of energy tells us that nothing truly disappears, but instead transforms into new forms and possibilities. Please don't hesitate to reach out in the future (via Ms. Hobbs); I'd love to hear about your future scientific endeavors and achievements. With much love, Ms. Kunst

With change, also comes opportunity for growth. Today I am pleased to share a new hire, Mrs. Shelby Lange, who will be joining the OLG family in the role as our Kindergarten teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! Mrs. Lange has a passion for young learners, social emotional learning, leadership and curriculum. We are excited to welcome her aboard. To introduce herself in her own words, please see the message below from Mrs. Lange.

Hello everyone! My name is Shelby Lange, and I am so thrilled to join the OLG team and community! I am so excited to take on the kindergarten position and meet all the students and staff! OLG seems like a wonderful community to join and flourish as an educator! For the last 5 years I have taught primary grades in the Renton School District. I am sure that once we get to know each other you will see my deep passion for education and specifically working with primary students. My husband and I live in West Seattle and enjoy walking in the beautiful neighborhoods. I also love to play board games, read, and spend time with my friends and family. I can’t wait to get started and meet you!

Please say hello to Mrs. Lange when you see her around campus, and welcome her to the OLG community! She, along with the rest of our teachers, look forward to seeing you at the Ice Cream Social on the 23rd of August at 5:30pm.

In the meantime, we will continue to actively seek out the best teaching candidates for OLG, and look forward to the ways in which we will thrive and grow together.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!

With Gratitude,

Ms. Lauren Hobbs
