Medicine Hat Public Library
During this pandemic the library has been a lifeline for those looking for learning, information or just for entertainment. We love their  #readingnotcancelled  campaign but many Hatters have missed being able to go to their library and connect with their community. So good news! The Library will reopen to the public on July 6th as part of Phase 2 of Alberta’s relaunch and they will once again be offering materials browsing and checkout. Read their story

Over 120 Business Leaders Call For A National Plan To Restart The Travel And Tourism Sector
The industry has been supportive of measures taken to mitigate the impact of this pandemic and protect the health and safety of Canadians. We also agree that the first step to recovery will be to allow local and regional travel with appropriate safety measures in place. That said, with economic conditions continuing to decline and the importance of the international travel market in stimulating growth, it is imperative to ensure that when tourism businesses gradually re-open and travel restarts, a balanced approach and careful consideration to border openings is in place to accelerate the overall economic recovery of the country. As such, our network is calling on governments across the country to put in place logical, streamlined measures to keep the public safe while simultaneously allowing the tourism and travel sector to open. We know that the Small Business of the Year sponsor, BDC, also shares our commitment to small business owners and they understand that a business is more than just dollars and cents, it's hard work and a unrelenting desire to create and sustain their business dream.

Thank you to all those small business owners out there who have been tested during the last couple of months and are still committed to Driving Business Forward ! We look forward to celebrating with all of you at our V irtual Business Awards in October!
