The mission of MarineParents.com is to provide support, information, and services to recruit and Marine family members and troops over the course of the life-cycle of your recruit or Marine's career in the Corps.

This sentiment is reflected in our Marine Corps Career icon. From the time your future-Marine is a poolee, through boot camp, the school of infantry and military occupational schooling, permanent duty stations and deployments, and then after your Marine's time in the Corps or if he or she is recovering from wounds or injuries sustained while serving, we have information for every step of the journey.

Whether you're brand new to life with a loved one in the Corps or you're an old hat, we strive to provide the most relevant, up-to-date information to help you know what to expect as your Marine navigates his or her career in the Marine Corps. Below you'll find information on each of our outreach services for each stage of the Marine Corps career and how we support you and your Marine. Our staff and volunteers look forward to knowing you and taking this journey with you!
St. Barbara, Patron Saint of Artillery
Artillerymen are a peculiar breed. Part grunt, part Motor T (transport), part communications, and part deaf, they have a long lineage dating back to the Roman legions in 399 BC… Twenty-first-century artillery consists of the M777 Howitzer as well as various other naval and land rocket pieces. Despite the years that separate the earliest artillerymen and today's modern warriors, for a number of centuries they've all shared one thing in common -- the veneration of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of artillery.

OPSEC: High Security Billets
Part 6 of a 7 part series. This video discusses High-Security Billets and the importance of not discussing these billets in social media and other venues. These billets will deal with more sensitive information and it’s important to keep that information safe.

Marine Corps Weapon Systems: MK19
The MK19, also known as the "Mark 19," is a highly effective weapon when effective suppressive fire support is needed. It is capable of wiping out light armored vehicles and protecting supply convoys. The MK19 provides Marine infantry battalions with the means to deliver massive direct fire or indirect fire from hidden positions. The MK19 rapidly fires explosive 40mm grenades, making it an ideal weapon against enemy armored, mechanized, and infantry forces. Marines become familiar with this while attending SOI.
