Doing things differently

At Canadian Food Focus (CFF), we take pride in doing things differently. Since its inception, CFF has been a consumer-focused initiative, addressing Canadians' beliefs, questions, and concerns about food production. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that food is deeply personal and emotional, connecting us to our history, values, and each other. While science-based, factual messaging remains critical, we go further by creating content that truly resonates with consumers. Using research, like the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity’s annual survey, we ensure our messaging aligns with the personal and emotional connections people have with food. We’re not just providing information—we’re answering the questions Canadians are asking and addressing the topics they care about most.

Looking ahead, CFF remains committed to connecting Canadians with factual, relatable, and engaging content, empowering them to make informed food choices and strengthening the bond between farm and fork.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re shaping the future of food literacy and trust in Canada. Read on to learn more about our recent activities and how you can help spread the word about Canadian Food Focus.

COLLABORATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

This 6-reel series shows the importance of animal welfare, biosecurity and family farming through the lens of shared consumer values.

The videos focus on the farmer as a person: her interest in fashion, the importance of family, the challenges of managing work and three kids’ activities, getting a meal on the table, and so on. WHY? Because consumers first have to care and be interested before they’re going to be ready to learn more about the specifics of farming.

The project was a collaboration with Aspen Films, the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan and with support from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

Research from the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity shows that the most important issue to Canadians in their day-to-day lives is the cost of food. Unsurprisingly, this has been the top consumer issue in the last five years of CCFI’s public trust research.

Canadian Food Focus’ mandate is to address consumer concerns about food and agriculture by providing valuable information to help them navigate issues such as food affordability. Our content empowers consumers with practical advice and strategies to manage their food expenses without compromising on nutrition or quality. Read more>
