Rest With Us! 11/17/21
2 Thessalonians 1:7 (KJV)
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
It is a BEAUTIFUL day here in McDonough, GA. It is 75 degrees, the sun is shining beautifully, and I feel good-do-da-do-da-do/da-do/AKA James Brown-I FEEL GOOD!!!!!!
I AWOKE (PRAISE THE LORD FOR AWAKENING AGAIN and NO I never tire of PRAISING THE LORD for another day of life!!!!
The first phone call I received was from a dear relative informing me of his mother's sudden diagnosis of terminal cancer and of course, that saddens me.
Please keep Mrs. Janice Hall in your PRAYERS!!!!
I slept relatively well and after a few duties were accomplished I decided to utilize this beautiful day and catch some needed Vitamin D and some RAYS.
I loaded up my trusty Bible and drove to the town square.
On the way there, I decided to TREAT MYSELF to a RARE ice cream cone-$5.99 for one scoop!!!
The first Scripture I turned to was the above which contained the Words of today's sermon:
“ And to you who are troubled rest with us.............................”
“AND TO YOU WHO ARE TROUBLED REST WITH US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARE YOU TROUBLED????????????????
I just noticed a short post on FB which simply said something like this:
“Sometimes when we cannot SEE what God is doing He is ALWAYS working on our behalf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
When WE least expect it, WHAM!!! GOD MOVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
“FOR WHO HATH KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD?????????????????”
There have been many times in my life when I notice my computer is running slow and upon further search discover SEVERAL programs whirling unbeknownst!!!
God is similar!! Oftentimes when things seem to slow down or even grind to a futile halt,
WHAM-a simple touch of His button changes everything!!!!
I know this is HARD but............................
Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
RESTING IN THE LORD is much like sitting in a chair!!
One does not sit in a chair without RESTING all their weight and TRUSTING that chair to do what it is designed to do!!!
When WE cannot or do not SEE God's Hand moving, how easy it is for US to get frustrated and/or discouraged and even give up on God.
The temptation is to walk away and/or simply give up!
Beloved, there IS a REST in the Lord PROMISED to all of us:
Hebrews 4:9-10 (KJV)
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
I close with this:
Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
“HAVING DONE ALL, TO STAND!!!”
TODAY, after doing all, simply STAND!!
Exodus 14:13 (KJV)
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
2 Chronicles 20:17 (KJV)
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
“FEAR YE NOT, STAND STILL, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD!!”
