UNDP Multi Country Office in Jamaica launches Campaign on Sexual Harassment, Abuse & Exploitation
Dear Colleagues,

Today we announce the launch of an 8-week Stand Up Speak Out’ Campaign on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation, starting with an internal roll-out that runs until Nov 24, and an external campaign starting Nov 25. The campaign is tailored to educate you about your rights, responsibilities and options should you experience or witness Sexual Harassment Sexual Abuse or Sexual Exploitation. UNDP’s policies are clear and far reaching, outlining significant penalties for offenders and protection against retaliation. The UNDP Administrator has mandated country offices to develop and implement annual plans to eliminate sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation and abuse of authority. We have designed an interactive campaign based on the football theme of the red card to reinforce key messages. This includes multimedia messages, an interactive webinar series and an external social media and traditional media campaign that we hope you will participate in. - Sasha Shirley, Operations Analyst
SAVE THE DATES
On the field of football, a red card from the referee signals that a team player has made an offensive move that has hurt other players and brought the game into disrepute. The offender is removed from the field of play. Sexual Harassment, Abuse and Exploitation may carry similar impacts and consequences. Our red card-themed Stand Up Speak Out campaign will seek to make the point using the culture of football.

We will be in touch shortly to seek your participation in the ‘Red Card’ videos and photo stories that depict you holding a red card in hand while making related points and perspectives on the importance of standing up and speaking out on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation. This will kick off the external campaign on Nov 25 to coincide with the global 16 Days Campaign Against Gender Based Violence. Please save the dates for our mandatory internal webinar on Nov 12, a second mandatory webinar for partners and beneficiaries on Nov 23 and the third, a public webinar “How to Deal With Sexual Harassment and Abuse” on Nov 25 or 26. We count on your cooperation and active participation - Sasha Shirley, Operations Analyst
