Let's Stand for Life on January 23rd!
Marches Changed to Local Covid-Friendly Events
Greetings!

I pray you had a great Christmas, and 2021 is off to a good start! We had looked forward to being together at our annual Life Marches, but it looks like we are going to have to spread the pro-life message in another way.

We worked hard to find a way to hold our Louisiana Life March events across the state. However, significant challenges with COVID state and local guidelines, the uncertainty of what regulations may come, and out of an abundance of caution to keep everyone safe, we have decided that our marches cannot proceed as they have in the past.

However, we MUST continue to stand for life as we mark the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade and remember the millions of babies killed by the injustice of abortion.
Here's our plan for how we can continue to speak for life this January:

  • Prayer Service At the Capitol Saturday, Jan. 23 at 9 AM: We will hold a small Prayer Service & Rally on the steps of the Capitol in Baton Rouge from 9-10 a.m. that will be broadcast across social media. We will have limited attendance available, and people can RSVP to attend the gathering on our website by clicking here.
  • "Stand for Life Louisiana!" Life Chain in Your Community Jan. 23 from 10:30 - noon: We encourage communities across Louisiana to hold a "Stand for Life" Life Chain on the sidewalk of a busy street with pro-life signs without gathering in person.

Many Stand for Life Louisiana Life Chains have been scheduled throughout the state, but we still need more. Can you host one in your community? Don't be concerned if you are worried about the number of people you can get out to your Stand for Life event! Whether you have 5 or 50, you will be a light for life in your community! If you'd like to host or get more information on hosting, visit our webpage to learn more, call our office at 1.866.5433, or contact Alexandra Seghers at alex@prolifelouisiana.org.

I have been a part of our annual Life Marches now for more than 10 years, and I am certainly disappointed they will not be held. But I hope we can use this moment to reach more communities for life through these Stand for Life events!

Thanks for your flexibility on this, and let us know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful New Year!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

P.S. And don't forget our Virtual Gala on Saturday, Jan. 16 with Benjamin and Kirsten Watson!
Proudly Pro-Life Gala is Going Virtual; Will Be Available on Local TV and Online Worldwide
Louisiana and New Orleans Right to Life tried hard to keep the annual Proudly Pro-Life Gala an in-person event, but current COVID-19 restrictions led the event to be changed to a virtual affair. It will be broadcast Saturday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the New Orleans area on WLAE-TV and worldwide online at www.ProLifeGala.com. The event will feature Proudly Pro-Life honorees and guest speakers former New Orleans Saint Benjamin Watson and his wife, Kirsten, Louisiana Sen. Katrina Jackson, New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Aymond and more!

'Stand for Life Louisiana!' Replacing Our Annual Louisiana Life Marches This Month
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our "Stand for Life Louisiana!" Statewide Outreach will replace the 2021 Louisiana Life Marches.
While we are disappointed we can't be together for our Life March events, we MUST continue to stand for life as we remember the millions of babies killed by the injustice of abortion. On Saturday, Jan. 23, we will pray together as a state on social media – led from the steps of the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Then, we will stand for life in communities across Louisiana in the form of socially distanced "life chains" to share our pro-life message with fellow citizens.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is Jan. 17 throughout the United States. Louisiana Right to Life is offering free bulletin inserts to churches to give out on that day and has other resources to help pastors bring a pro-life message. Will your church participate and help raise awareness about what the Bible teaches about the sacred gift of human life?
Louisiana Right to Life is heartbroken over the death of our friend Congressman-elect Luke Letlow, 41. He was a dedicated pro-life leader in Louisiana and on Capitol Hill for years. Even during his campaign for Congress last fall he helped us pass the Love Life Amendment. He always wanted to help the pro-life cause because he was deeply committed to it.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond will preside over the Memorial for the Unborn prayer service at the Holy Innocents Prayer Garden in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans at noon on Friday, Jan. 22.
Do you have a Choose Life license plate on your car, SUV, or truck? When you buy one, not only are you donating to pro-life pregnancy centers and adoption agencies, but you are speading the message of life!
