Dear Colleague in Christ,

In what has to be one of the most challenging times in the recent history of the Church clergy in our Greater Kansas City Region have given themselves over and above the call of duty to serve and lead in congregations, hospitals, hospice programs, and social services. It is humbling to witness such an outpouring of love and devotion to Christ and the Church.

We are glad and grateful to renew the standing of so many inspiring colleagues.
By now you know that there are many ways to reapply annually for your standing:

To make this process workable for all, we ask that you apply for standing renewal by October 15 so that our Ordination and Standing Commission will have ample time to review all 150+ applications. Go to kcdisciples.org/clergy for information about required continuing education and opportunities to fulfill the requirements. Remember that Office Administrator Jessica Lopez is glad to help you access your online profile by providing the password and username. Please be aware that the College of Regional Ministers and the General Commission on the Order of the Ministry are in the process of designing an online standing form for use in all Regions in 2022 that will be integrated with the data base in the Disciples Home Missions.

We invite you to join us in prayers of thanks for the faithful ministries of those previously approved inactive retired colleagues whose standing remains without need for renewal as a testimony to their witness and service. Their names are listed on the back of this letter.

We take this opportunity to recognize and thank the Rev, Joshua Patty who has chaired the Ordination and Standing Commission for our Region and led us in updating our practices to more closely align with those of other Regional Commissions on the Order of the Ministry.. He is answering the call to serve as Regional Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Upper Midwest.

May God continue to bless you and keep you safe, healthy and well.

William B. Rose-Heim, M.Div.
Regional Minister & President
