AAAS & ATDA Members:

On behalf of your association’s volunteer leadership and Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your membership and participation in AAAS & ATDA. Your membership and support are even more critical during this challenging time. Now more than ever, we see and appreciate the power and value of working together to benefit the industry and lift each other up in times of need. With that in mind, I want to highlight a few things that are happening and available to you through your association now to help support you and your business today.

AAAS/ATDA continues to lobby and represent your interests. The long hard work of building a credible lobbying presence is undoubtedly paying off today as one of the first challenges was making sure the aftermarket was included in the essential business category so you can keep the doors open. Our communication efforts have gone into overdrive as the association works every day to keep you informed with reliable and usable information, particularly on issues like the CARES Act. We have set up COVID-19 News tabs on our websites and will only post information that we have vetted and deemed to be the most reliable. If there is something you are looking for and cannot find, let us know.   www.aaas.us/News-COVID-19-Resources  and  www.alatiredealers.com/News-COVID-19-Resources . Please mark these sites and refer to them as needed.

In addition to meeting payroll, healthcare and insurance are at the forefront of everyone’s list of concerns.

To support members experiencing cash flow issues, the AAAS Employee Benefit Fund , with the cooperation of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama , has extended the time frame for payment of participant’s April premium. Details and key dates are outlined in this letter to participants . We are assisting members in the daily challenges of maintaining employee benefits, addressing eligibility issues, etc. and that is of particular importance in light of the many new requirements in the stimulus legislation.

Members participating in the association Worker’s Comp program facing cash flow issues are encouraged to contact the Fund Administrator and/or staff. The Automotive Aftermarket Fund and Ameritrust will work with members through this difficult time and, most importantly, partner with members to help maintain quality coverage for the business and employees. Click here to view the AAF notice to members .

We encourage members not participating in the association programs to be in touch with their insurance providers and inquire about payment terms or any other means of support they may be able to offer.

Yesterday many members attended the AAAS  Economic Recovery Stimulus for Small Business Webinar . I’ve included a link for you so that you can listen when you get a moment. The webinar was hosted by Corey Savoie and Billy Cox of Aldridge Borden Co. , the association’s longtime CPA firm in partnership with The SafeBridge Group . You will find answers to questions like, what should I be doing now for my business? How long do I have to apply for loans? Which options are right for my business right now? You’ll hear additional and specific questions from members, dealing with the same issues that you are, and you’ll gain contact information for expert advice should you need it now and in the future.

AAAS and ATDA are dedicated to assisting you through this crisis. You will hear from your association often as information becomes available, and we see further developments. Beyond that, we welcome your call with thoughts and ideas on how we may be of greater assistance, value, or service.

Thanks again, and stay well!
Sincerely,

Randal H. Ward, CAE
