As of January 10, 2025, the Board of Supervisors has reinforced protections for immigrant civil rights and directed staff to fully comply with the California Values Act. The County shares links to community resources for finding legal guidance, social services, consular support, a 24/7 Rapid Response hotline, and “Red Cards” to document your rights during ICE encounters.

Resolution to Uphold Immigrant Rights in Sonoma County

On January 10, 2025, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution #25-0015, affirming the civil rights, dignity, health, and safety of immigrant residents. The resolution emphasizes non-cooperation with ICE enforcement actions, outlines protective measures, mandates staff training in trauma-informed and culturally proficient care, and reinforces privacy safeguards for immigrants’ personal data. It also highlights resources available to immigrant communities, underscoring the County’s commitment to inclusivity and equal protection under the law.
