FEBRUARY 22, 2026

JFS of Greenwich recently convened an intimate community conversation led by Christopher Kelley, Director of Immigration Legal Services, to bring clarity to the rapidly shifting challenges facing immigrants in our region. Amid widespread confusion and concerning headlines, Chris provided participants with factual insight into the current immigration landscape and the realities affecting local families. He explained how JFS is actively responding -- ensuring that individuals and families continue to receive expert legal representation, compassionate support services, and a safe place to turn as uncertainty grows.

The briefing provided perspective, direction, and reassurance. Attendees left with a clearer understanding of how federal and state policy decisions impact our community and how collective action matters. In moments of uncertainty, informed voices and local action are powerful.

JFS remains steadfast in its commitment to serving immigrant families with dignity and expertise. You can help by staying informed, using your voice, supporting trusted organizations, and standing alongside families navigating incredibly complex systems. Together, we can ensure that our community remains welcoming, responsive, and rooted in compassion.

Our Clinical Director, Erin Tishman, and clinician Caleb Connor, LPC-A, recently hosted a pop‑up information table at the New Canaan YMCA to introduce community members to the new counseling services now available onsite through the JFS Bennett Center for Behavioral Health.

This partnership brings high‑quality mental health care directly into the heart of New Canaan, offering individual, couples, family, and group therapy, along with psychiatric evaluation and medication management, all in a private and welcoming setting. Services are open to the entire community, and YMCA membership is not required.

We are holding an Open House on Tuesday, March 24 at 12:30 pm at the New Canaan YMCA. Community members are invited to stop by, meet our clinicians, and explore the range of services and programs. To attend, please email Beth Jabick.

Followed by light bagel and schmear lunch.

Thursday, March 5 | 11:30am – 1:00pm

Temple Sinai, 458 Lakeside Dr, Stamford

This event is free of charge.

Strengthening Community Access to Health Coverage

JFS was pleased to welcome Access Health CT CEO James Michel to the Rose City Learning Center. Over the past several months, Access Health CT has provided on‑site assistance to help JFS clients and Norwich community members enroll in health care plans, directly improving access to essential coverage.

We appreciate partnerships that reduce barriers and strengthen the well‑being of the individuals and families we serve.
