Quarters for Casa Mia

Join us in helping our Casa Mia buddies light up with the holiday spirit! We are asking each student to bring in 25￠for their class’s Casa Mia buddy holiday gift.

Quarters can be sent to school until December 15th.

If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, please be sure to call the office at 262-348-7000 before 2:30pm to let us know.

Star Center's

Special Visitor

On November 21st, Susan Sepe, visited classrooms throughout Star Center Elementary. Susan is blind, but she does some amazing things. The students of Star Center were able to spend time learning from Susan about what it means to be blind and how blind people can do things that everyone else can do but often just in a different way.

Susan taught the children about reading and writing braille, why she uses a white cane and her guide dog Laverne, what to do when you see a guide dog in public, and how technology such as her iPhone assists her in her everyday life. The children enjoyed a story read by Susan from her special braille book. Each child received handmade braille cards that taught them the alphabet in braille and allowed them to decode their name and a special message Susan left for each of them in braille.

Thank you to Susan for volunteering your time! The students enjoyed learning from you!

JA BIZTOWN EXPERIENCE! Tuesday, November 28th

5th graders aren't old enough to drive, work, vote or be the boss but at JA BizTown they were! Students operated Chase bank, Culvers, city hall, a newspaper, Kohls, their own radio station and several other businesses. JA BizTown® combined in-class learning with help from Badger High School students and a day-long visit to a fully interactive, simulated town in Milwaukee. Students left understanding the relationship between what they learn in school and their participation in our local economy.

The Star Center 5th grade team would like to thank our volunteers, Mr. and Mrs. Giovingo, Mrs. Gustafson, Mrs. Tennessen, Mrs. Warren and Badger FCCLA students!

Veteran's Day Celebration

On Friday, November 10th,️Star Center held an amazing Veteran's Day program and breakfast for our military families.

We thank each and everyone one of you that have fought and served our country in the armed services.

YBASE - Before & After School Child Care For Lake Geneva Joint #1 Schools, provided by the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA

YBASE Before & School

Childcare Coming Next School Year!

We are excited to announce that Lake Geneva Schools has partnered with the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA to provide YBASE, a before and after school child care enrichment program for the 2017-2018 school year at Central Denison and Star Center Elementary Schools. YBASE is for children in grades 5K-5th grade who are enrolled at Central Denison, Eastview or Star Center. Registration opens May 1 at the YMCA (schools cannot process registration requests). Limited spots are available, so early registration is encouraged.
