Demolitions Completed with Land Bank Funding
Historically over the last seven years, the Stark County Land Bank's focus on demolition has been as a result of various state & federal grant funding opportunities. In addition to this, the Land Bank currently operates a "Demolition Assistance Program" that is available to help Stark County cities, villages, and townships with strategic property demolition by providing funding on a reimbursement basis, up to 50% of the documented hard costs of the project.

Adopted FY 2021 Stark County Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Programs

On April 21st, the Board of Stark County Commissioners adopted the FY 2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs, July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, as well as the FY 2020 CDBG-CV (Coronavirus response) program. This adoption took place after the 30-day comment period for the programs expired on April 10th. The FY 2021 CDBG and HOME programs and the FY 2020 CDBG-CV program were previously adopted by the CDBG Citizens' Advisory Council and the Stark County Regional Planning Commission in early March, prior to the March 17th public hearing. Billboard Contest Winners

As part of the Stormwater Education Program, middle and high school students had the opportunity to enter a Billboard Contest. The four winning entries had their original artwork displayed on actual billboards throughout Stark County. This year's theme is "Stop Pollution Quick, Don't Make the Water Sick." "Clawd," the county's stormwater mascot is wearing a mask so he doesn't get sick.

2021 Federal Transit Administration 5310 Transportation Grant Awards


At its April 26, 2021 meeting, the SCATS Policy Committee approved funding of $307,654 for seven projects using Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 Funds from Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program. This program assists with meeting the transportation needs of seniors and those with disabilities beyond those provided by local public transportation and is managed jointly in Stark County by SCATS and the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA).
