The Stark County Area Transportation Study (SCATS) receives planning funds from the Federal Highway Administration to carry out their core planning responsibilities as well as studying a number of other issues countywide and within our local communities.
These studies can include a variety of transportation issues including safety, economic development, accessibilty and multi-modal needs, historic and environmental transportation related issues, improving the resiliency and reliability of the transportation system, reducing or mitigating stormwater impacts of surface transportation and enhancing travel and tourism.
