Stark County Regional Planning Commission's
Annual Dinner
The Stark County Regional Planning Commission (SCRPC) will be holding its Annual Dinner on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Arrowhead Golf and Event Center and all local officials and residents are encouraged to attend. A cash bar will open at 6:00 p.m. with dinner following at 7:00 p.m.

This year's guest speaker will be CEO of the Stark Economic Development Board, Ray Hexamer. The title of his speech is "What is Up (and Down) in Stark."

Is Your Neighborhood in need of
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding?

NOW is the time to start exploring the possibility of obtaining future Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help your community.

CDBG funding is granted to qualified infrastructure or public facility improvement projects that are located in designated low- to -moderate-income (LMI) census tract/block group areas. Funding is also granted for qualified economic development or public service projects that directly benefit eligible LMI persons/families in your community.

Stark County's FY 2022 HOME Funding


A HOME "Request for Proposal" workshop was held on Monday, November 22nd, with applications for this upcoming HOME program being due Friday, January 7th at noon. After the applications are received, they will be reviewed. A decision in regard to the 2022 program is expected to be presented to the public by mid-March, with a public hearing to take place in late March/early April presenting the proposed program to the Board of Stark County Commissioners. Demolition of Dennis R. Smith School Building
Completed with Land Bank Funding

After receiving reimbursement for 83 demolitions in April 2021, the Hall of Fame Village (HOFV) returned to the Land Bank and requested funding assistance to undertake the demolition of the partial (Dennis R. Smith) school building. The school, located at 1510 Clarendon Avenue N.W., was located in the SW corner of HOFV's campus footprint.
Stormwater Update

The theme for Stark County's Stormwater Education Program this year is "Do Your Part, Be Septic Smart." It will focus on the proper care of home septic systems.

The Public Involvement/Public Education (P.I.P.E.) Committee has decided to do several of the same successful activities as in the past. There will be a Billboard Contest for grades 6-12, a booth at the Stark County Home & Garden Show, a radio advertising campaign, a new brochure, the Nimishillen Creek LEAP (Litter, Elimination, Awareness, and Prevention) CleanUp, workshops, and presentations as requested.
