Shanghai Bobby
Florida Derby:
Following a 5th Place showing in the G1 Florida
Derby on March 30th at Gulfstream Park, it was
decided by Starlight's managing partners Jack
Wolf and Donnie Lucarelli, in concert with
trainer Todd Pletcher, that it was in Bobby's best
interest to take a little downtime. While disappointing to be off the Derby trail, Starlight's primary concern
will always be doing what is best for our horses.
We are confident that Bobby has a bright racing future and currently is pointed for a late summer
early fall return.

Behind the Scenes:
Shanghai Bobby's connections flew to Gulfstream Park from all over the country and excitement was high! Bobby's Starlight Family spans generations, making for a very memorable weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone gathered together at the races again in the near future.

Starlight Blogs in the Courier-Journal:
Shanghai Bobby's connections were asked to share their experiences as they travel the Derby trail. Unfortunately, the trail ended at the Florida Derby but as anyone involved with racing knows, this is always a possibility!  It has still been an amazing and exciting adventure with many wonderful memories made!  Please click here to read founding partner Jack Wolf's thoughts as the Trail heated up, Rosie Napravnik's insights into Bobby's personality and Bloodstock Agent Frank Brothers initial impressions of Bobby as a yearling.  There are many extra photos as well. Enjoy!

Park City
Latest Update:
Park City earned his best Ragozin Speed figure to date in the G2 Tampa Bay Derby on March 9th and, in his initial training after the race, he appeared healthy, sound and energetic.  However, his recent training indicates some signs of unsoundness and further examination indicated that some time off may be in his best interest.  He'll go to Payton Training Center in Ocala, Florida and receive a through examination and, if necessary, get the time he needs to return. Keep an eye on Starlight Racing's website for news when it's released.
