SHIP Helps Local Couple Save

Bob and Joanne Zayko of Norton Shores recently discovered the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and scheduled an appointment with Joan Schmiedeknecht, SHIP Regional Outreach Coordinator at Senior Resources. With rising insurance costs, they were curious to see if reviewing their options could make a difference.

“This was our first time using this program,” Bob said. “Joan is so knowledgeable—she made everything simple. She listened, asked questions, and shared information so we could make an informed decision. By making a couple of changes to our plan, we realized we could save about $500.00 a year. This program is a tremendous resource for our community, and we’re grateful it’s available to us!"
