Greetings!
Just like you, we here at the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) are eagerly anticipating spring, which begins March 20.

Spring's arrival means we're one step closer towards a summer season filled with high-quality programs that keep kids learning, safe, and healthy while ensuring they return to school in the fall ready to succeed.

In this issue, we take a look ahead to National Summer Learning Week debuting July 8-13, 2019!
When it comes to summer learning, the educational, social, and emotional gains children can reap through high-quality programs is something everyone can celebrate! SUMMER LEARNING WEEK THEME DAYS
NSLA has transformed our annual national awareness day for summer learning to a week-long celebration through five unique theme days! This year, each day will focus on a new theme: Literacy, STEM, Arts, College & Career Readiness, and Nutrition and Wellness.
Monday, July 8 - Kick-Off Day - Share Your Summer
Learning Story
What inspires you about summer? Everyone has a summer story to share. Whether it's a memory from your own childhood, progress in your community around summer learning, or an amazing moment from your summer program, we want to know!
Tuesday, July 9 - Discovery Day - STEM

It's been 50 years since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin first landed on the moon. NASA now says the "Next Giant Leap" is Mars. Turn science-fiction into reality through exploration in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and open up possibilities for all young people to soar this summer.
Wednesday, July 10 - Masterpiece Day - Arts

Research confirms that the arts prepare students for school, life, and work. Summer is a blank canvas for creativity and self-expression through music, literature, dance, theater, visual arts, and so much more. Spark the imagination that delights the spirit of child.
