Start of School Confirmation

Dear Parents,

It has come to my attention that there is some confusion around the start of school. Please see my concise answers and reasoning as well as another brief update.

  1. School will officially start in Merchantville on September 9th.
  2. Adolescents have an orientation week at the farm that week.
  3. A handful of families of younger students signed up as requested before July 31st. This is for the week in Merchantville, September 3rd - 6th.
  4. We have 180 school days, starting on September 9th, to follow our accreditation guidelines, traditional school schedule, and to receive services from the district. There are slight differences, but for the most part, we are following the Moorestown Public School Calendar. We still finish before they do in June. Summer camp will start on June 22.

I heard from my contractor yesterday afternoon. We finally got all approvals from the township, except for fire safety specs from their engineer. He just needs to do more calculations to sign off on the drawings for the sprinkler.  All outside work should be done before September 3rd. All inside work should be done before the middle of September. As of now, the only thing that would hold us up has to do with the elevator. My contractor is supposed to speak with them on Monday. However, he is confident that should be delivered and done around the same time. Lastly, we will need a walk through to get our CO and then we can move in. I hope this clarifies any confusion. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.  I will continue to send updates on a regular and consistent basis.

Sincerely,
