Following the example of the Global Church in Living Good News
Hey there,

International Development Week is acknowledged across our nation from February 7th to 13th. This week we acknowledge Canadian contributions to poverty reduction and international humanitarian assistance, as followers of Jesus who share God’s blessings.

World Partners is privileged to participate with you throughout this week to share stories, reflections, and prayers with the Global Church. We are humbled to follow their example. For as they invest in multiple parts of their community, there is a belief and hope that these actions may affect the whole.

As Jesus characterizes the nature of the kingdom of God, He says the following:

"[Jesus] also asked, “What else is the Kingdom of God like? 21 It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”
Luke 13:20-21, NLT

As yeast is worked in, it takes time to show its activating effect. As followers of Jesus, as we continue to be obedient to God’s voice in society, we can trust that these decisions now and in the future contribute to a much larger picture.

Integral development allows for all people to rejoice in the resources God has given them, and trust that the use of those resources can affect change in the area of investment, and community transformation more broadly.

We hope that you will be encouraged by how the Global Church is engaging their whole selves with expected and unexpected results. We will be highlighting the stories of church and community transformation in Ethiopia, a multi-level initiative in Gens De Nantes, Haiti, and the testimonies of global partners in Nepal. We invite you to finish the week with us in an EMCC Connected Across the Globe event, engaging in prayer together.

How you can get involved:
  • Post
  • Pray
  • Have conversations about Development as a regular expression of being on mission with Jesus and the Global Church
