September 2017
Change is in the air!! Fall is usually a time for change, and this year the IDA has some great changes in store for it’s members. I’m very pleased to tell everyone we are in the process of upgrading and updating our member interface on our website. I know, I know, you’re all designers and you’re going…blah blah blah... why do I care about a member interface? Well our updated system will provide you with a unique member login to provide updates to your profile (address, employer, email etc.), you can sign up for events, you can even pay your membership dues online! Our updated membership directory will allow prospective clients to search for the right designer and we will have the opportunity to provide member profiles. There will be a searchable job bank as well as a secure members only area. I’m really excited to see how these new features will help take the IDA to the next level. In addition to all these member upgrades, the new system will make the running the office a bit easier on the ladies. It will assist in tracking conversations, inquiries, applications all the while keeping our management expenses down.

We have so many things on our agenda this fall including Urban Encounters around the corner in both Edmonton and Calgary. Look for me at both events and be sure to come over to say Hi! Several of your council members will also be attending one or both shows so look for us wearing our council badges. The MASI design awards are only a few weeks away as well as several other CEU events including now that we’re all back to school and work after summer vacations. Be sure to read through the events in the newsletter and come out to support your association.
