Trust and Respect: pillars of any successful relationship and, quite fittingly, two components that represent one of Lewis’s six core values.

As daunting as it may seem to earn and maintain trust and respect, it’s a concept that’s perhaps easier to navigate than expected.

“It turns out that trust is in fact earned in the smallest of moments. It is earned not through heroic deeds, or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.” — Brene Brown

Authentically and consistently modeling these behaviors with your clients and colleagues inevitably leads to more candid rapport, stronger connections and, with any luck, lasting working relationships that are beyond financially profitable—they’re actually meaningful.

They say it’s the little things that matter. In my opinion, that couldn’t be more true.

Trust me.

Life at Lewis

Portland Blood Drive

Last week, Portland hosted the American Red Cross for a blood drive. Lewis rolled up their sleeves and gave enough to save an estimated 54 lives! Big thanks to the 22 donors who participated in giving 18 pints of blood. This included 13 first-time donors! What a beautiful example of giving back to our community.

Summer Picnic at Remlinger Farm

Last weekend, the Washington operation hosted the annual summer picnic for employees and their families. The picnic was held at Remlinger farms and included a food drive, fun craft projects and plenty of refreshments for all. A special thank you to Marya Granger and her team for planning and executing such a great event!

ESOP Shareholders Meeting

On Thursday, we hosted the annual ESOP shareholders meeting with watch parties in the Seattle, Portland and Eugene offices. The meeting was presented by Bart Ricketts, Berger Dodge, Stacy Lewallen and Coriann Presser and provided updates on the financial health of the company, the mechanics of the ESOP and resources for employee-owners to positively impact the share price. In the Field

Live After Five at the Oregon Zoo

Last Friday, Lewis hosted family and friends and enjoyed an evening at the Oregon Zoo as part of their summer event series: Zoo Nights. Nearly 130 attendees came and enjoyed live music, explored exhibits, and listened in on Keeper Talks. The event was a great way to spend some relaxing time face-to-face with co-workers and their loved ones. Thanks to everyone who came out!

Avangrid Open for Business

Doors are open at the Avangrid office! This LEED Gold project included open and private offices, collaborative spaces, conference rooms and the Café/Agora space. The complex seismic repositioning scope required collector steel beam installation that connected to shear walls. Lewis completed this tenant improvement within the quick turnaround schedule of 23 weeks. Huge thanks to the whole team who worked tirelessly to get this project across the finish line.
