Happy Selection Sunday.
College basketball teams spend an entire season preparing to hear their name called on Selection Sunday and then to make a deep run once the NCAA tournament begins. The teams that go the farthest aren’t just talented; they’re disciplined, prepared and tend to be the ones that gel the best.
Our construction teams aren’t much different.
Great projects are built the same way great teams win games: preparation, accountability, communication and trust in the people around you. Everyone has a role to play, and when teams execute together, the results follow.
As we head into a new week, let’s bring that same mindset to the work in front of us—prepare well, support your teammates and focus on the fundamentals that lead to success.
And fill out those brackets.

Foremen's Breakfast in Seattle
Last Saturday, March 7th, Lewis hosted the 32nd annual Foremen’s Breakfast at SoDo Park, honoring the dedication, expertise, and leadership that our foremen bring to the job every day.
Ethan Allen-Irons and Andrew Levang once again emceed. Attendees tested their knowledge with Lewis trivia, saw the unveiling of a new Crutcher Structures jobsite safety banner, and reflected on our strong safety performance in 2025.
Special recognition went to team members from the Microsoft, Angel of the Winds Pool, Northshore School District, Fred Hutch G2 Imaging, and Seattle Children’s Research Institute projects for great outcomes. We also celebrated colleagues who are marking service milestones of 5, 10, 25, 30, and 35 years with Lewis.

Smart Reading Book Cleaning Event
Nine Lewis team members volunteered last Wednesday at the Smart Reading warehouse in Northeast Portland, helping clean and restore children’s books for distribution to young readers across the region.
During the two-hour service event, volunteers worked side by side preparing books for classrooms and families while sharing stories about their favorite childhood reads. The effort supports Smart Reading’s mission to spark joy and opportunity through the magic of a shared book and reflects Lewis’ purpose of empowering our people and improving our communities.
Thank you to Chelsie Schoenborn for organizing and facilitating the event, and to everyone who volunteered their time to support this meaningful work.

PHX-13 Project Update
In early 2025, crews from a joint venture between Lewis and Phoenix-based general contractor GCON set the first precast panels for PHX-13, a 72-megawatt data center in Waddell, Arizona. What a difference a year makes.
The two-story, 445,000-square-foot precast structure topped out in late July, with structural steel completed in November 2025. Since then, major infrastructure work has advanced rapidly across the site.
In early 2026, crews completed the installation of 8,600 feet of medium-voltage duct bank in the generator yards, followed by the placement of 42 equipment pads. That represents roughly 4,000 cubic yards of concrete in the generator yards alone. On the roof, 70 chillers have been set to date, with 14 additional installations scheduled for April. Crews have also installed 35 3.5-megawatt generators along with associated UPS units and transformers, with seven more generator sets planned for June.
Below-grade utilities are now complete, and site work will continue in the coming months with the installation of light poles, curb and gutter, paving, and landscaping, targeting completion by the end of June. Inside the building, interior fit-outs have begun, with the first equipment scheduled to arrive later this month. Storefront installation is also expected to wrap up this month, while elevator installation is slated to begin in June. Roofing is currently underway, with building dry-in anticipated in June as well.
From the very beginning, our team has instilled confidence in the GCON–Lewis partnership with our client, Aligned Data Centers, providing the confidence and continuity needed to support their growth in a highly competitive market.

Oaks Park Dance Pavilion Photos
Lewis finished the Oaks Park Dance Pavilion historical renovation in 2025, but we just recently received the professional photos of this gorgeous space. Take a look at the finished product!
Our team took the 120-year-old timber-frame structure and gave it a new lease on life with modern upgrades, including new finishes throughout, updated restrooms and improved lighting. Work also included repairing and straightening the south wall, reinforcing the timber roof trusses and adding a new ADA-accessible entry. The dropped ceiling was removed to showcase the original roof, honoring the original craftsmanship.

Tigard-Tualatin School District Proposal
Last Thursday, our education team submitted a proposal to Tigard-Tualatin School District to serve as CM/GC for the Fowler Middle School project, a complete rebuild of the district’s highest-need facility. The project includes a new 146,000-square-foot middle school delivered through a phased approach that allows the existing campus to remain fully operational during construction, followed by demolition of the original building and completion of site improvements.
Meta Dexter Refresh Proposal
On Friday, the Seattle corporate team submitted a proposal for Meta’s Dexter Refresh project in South Lake Union. The scope includes renovating and updating existing Meta workspaces throughout the building, with work performed during off-hours, as the building will remain 100% occupied. The refresh includes level one lobby renovation, café modifications and a new café space, meeting room renovations and new meeting spaces, library additions, a training room rebalance, finish upgrades, and other general amenity enhancements.
