Rebuilding confidence to get back into it .

Your input helps those like me to understand we not alone .

Ben Zipser

We are pleased to welcome Ben Zipser to our CMT family.

In 1992 Ben commenced working as a solicitor at the Australian Government Solicitor. Among other matters, Ben acted for the Minister in migration matters in the Federal Court.

In 1999 Ben came to the Bar. Since then, Ben has appeared in many migration matters for applicants in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (both General Division and Migration and Refugee Division), Federal Circuit Court (now Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia), Federal Court and High Court of Australia. The matters in which Ben has have appeared have covered a broad range of issues arising under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth). The High Court matters in which Ben has appeared are Minister v Respondents S152/2003 (2004) 222 CLR 1, NAIS v Minister (2005) 228 CLR 470 and Hossain v Minister (2018) 264 CLR 123. I was also briefed in (and prepared submissions for) the High Court matter of Davis v Minister; DCM20 v Minister (judgment to be published by High Court tomorrow), but Ben was unable to appear at the hearing last October due to a hearing date clash with a commercial matter in which he was also briefed.

Ben also appears in commercial matters in New South Wales courts and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
