Good Morning,
Yesterday we celebrated Memorial Day. For many, it was the first picnic of the summer. For others, parades and still others just a day off to relax and enjoy.
Today's message does not tell us to not celebrate or enjoy. It's message is simple. Let's not forget what we are really celebrating. We are celebrating the freedom we all have as a result of those who have fought and died around the world to keep us free.
Freedom comes at a price. There will always be those who try to take it away from us. It has happened throughout the history of mankind. Many of you have fought and lived. We can't thank you enough for your service.
Memorial Day is our chance to remember those who fought and didn't live. We should also remember those who came home and had great difficulty putting what they went through behind them. They came home but their experiences eventually cost them their lives as assuredly as actual combat.
As we pause to give thanks, let us give thanks to all who have put their lives on the line for our freedom. As we celebrate Memorial Day, let us give particular thanks to those who paid the ultimate price.
