Good Morning,
Yesterday morning early, as I returned from my beach walk, I noticed 11 ducks all swimming together. Not having my camera, I returned later, camera in hand, and came across this duck family with Mom, doing what moms do, providing guidance to one of her 8 children.
It made me think of the importance of family, not only with the raising of children but throughout our lives. Children, like ducks learn by what they see around them and what they experience. If they see and experience love, they will learn to love. If they see and experience hate, they will learn to hate. It seems we live in a world that discourages families and encourages the government and social organizations to take on the responsibility of family with those individuals teaching values and ways of coping with life.
Nature, as demonstrated by the duck family, shows us that family is important and it is the responsibility of parents to teach their young how to love and cope in this world. It teaches families to stick together throughout life and support each others through both good and bad times. Around this family of young ducks were another large group of older ducks eating, swimming and playing together.
The future success of our society depends on strong families, family values and family ties. Let's all do our part to develop them and maintain them.
Jim
