Yesterday was Easter. The view of the sunrise during our Sunrise Service on the Atlantic was beautiful. A bright moon to start and then, the sun. I never get tired of it.
Those of us who are Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the hope that springs eternal. As I look at the beauty of the sunrise and think of that day over 2,000 years ago, it reminds me that we, as mere mortals, are not in control of this world. We are blessed to live in it and can only do our part to make it a little better.
He did not live his life looking for glory and doing things to make others look up to him. He lived his life in an obscure part of the world doing what was right and what needed to be done. His accomplishments are better known to more people in the world than any great leader that has ever come along.
As we go through this week and the rest of our lives, we should keep in mind that none of us has the role as the lead actor. We all play a supporting role. Supporting but, none the less, important.
