Attitude Is Everything

Starting the Week Off Right

July 22, 2024

Good Morning,

In this busy busy world it is easy to take the path of least resistance. A friend or our peer group is going to do this or that so it must be the right decision for me. I see these advertisements for medication, vehicles, places to eat or many other things over and over and tell ourselves they must be good or must be safe for us. Our political party is saying to do this or that or vote for this person or that person. We tend to believe everything they say is accurate and true. After all, it is our party. They wouldn't lead us astray.

All of this may be the easiest path but it might not be the right one for us. We need to ask what are both the positive benefits and negative consequences of our decisions. We need to weigh them and make sure that decision is in our own best interest. What do they have to gain by us following their recommendation? Money? Power? Control? Is it truly altruistic and only for the good of others? Is it mutually beneficial? Do only they benefit?

Blind trust will never be in our individual best interest. As the old saying goes: "Trust but verify". Do your own homework. Draw your own conclusions. Make your own decisions.

Have a great week.

Jim
