Yesterday was Veterans Day. Today is the official holiday with banks, the post office and most governmental offices closed.
It was originally called Armistice Day celebrating the end of World War I, Yesterday we celebrated the 100th anniversary of that date.
Let us take a moment and thanks those who have served in our armed forces protecting this great country from those who have and still seek to destroy it. We may or may not agree with individual military actions but, I hope, we all can agree that protecting our way of life and the freedoms that come from it is important. There will always be those who are jealous and want to take it away, who want what we have or want to teach us some sort of lesson who will do anything to make that happen.
Let us thank those who have served and protected us as well as others who will in the future, however we choose to celebrate Veterans Day.
