Blue Bloods season 8 episode 16 which, first, aired on March 9, 2018 featured this saying. Yes, I think I have watched every rerun of Blue Bloods in recent years. It is amazing some of the quotes we hear that really hit home.
He isn't talking a state if permanent failure. He is talking about the reality that none of us is perfect, always doing things perfectly our first try. Trying new things involves risk. Risk means a possibility of failure. As I heard in the sermon at Church this morning, if we hadn't risked falling down when we were babies, we would still be crawling on our knees.
Failure, used properly, is a learning tool. We learn what works and what doesn't. We modify our methods or behavior as we learn until we find the winning combination. We don't stop there. Throughout life, we should continue to experiment and learn, failing if we must, adjusting and improving. This is what life is all about.
Have a great week,
