2016 Election Notice
Eight terms on the Board of Bar Commissioners will expire Dec. 31, 2016, and need to be filled in the upcoming election (First, Third, Fourth, Sixth and Seventh Bar Commissioner districts). All positions are three-year terms, except as noted, and run from 2017-2019. Nominations shall be made by written petition (deadline: 5 p.m., Oct. 24). All practice sections are soliciting candidates for board of director positions. Those interested should provide the respective section's nominating committee chair with a brief statement of involvement in the section and in the law generally by Oct. 13. Contact information can be found online.

State Bar members who are under the age of 36 or in their first five years of practice are eligible to participate in the election. First Judicial District Pro Bono Clinic
The YLD seeks volunteers are needed for the First Judicial District pro bono clinic from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 7 at the First Judicial District Court. Volunteers should arrive at 9:45 a.m. for brief training and breakfast. Volunteers attorneys will provide free legal advice on civil legal matters, excluding family law, and paralegal and law student volunteers are needed to conduct intake. Contact
