The KIRC supports this bill.
HOW TO SUBMIT TESTIMONY ONLINE
If you have not done so already, register with the Hawaii Legislature website. This will allow you to submit testimony without the need to re-enter required information, and to receive hearing notice notifications by e-mail (generally, we are only given 24-hours notice).
Visit http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/ and enter the Bill # (HB100) into the "Bill Status/ Measure Status" box, then click "GO."
Click "Submit Testimony" to enter your details and testimony (Enter the reasons you think Kaho'olawe is important, or feel free to use a sample below). *More reasons listed on our blog.
NOTE: In the past we noticed a handful of supporters entering "comments only" without actually indicating whether or not they "support" or "oppose" the measure. Please do not forget this very important step.
TESTIMONY SAMPLE
Please restore funding for the Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC) to the State Budget. In the Governor's Request, funding was provided to support KIRC staff position but was eliminated during the House Committee on Finance's review of HB100. Please restore this critical funding so that the KIRC can continue its innovative restoration of Kaho'olawe and keep the Reserve accessible to the people of Hawai'i.
BACKGROUND
The mission of the Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC) is to implement the vision for Kaho'olawe Island in which the kino (body) of Kaho'olawe is restored and na poe o Hawai'i (the people of Hawaii) care for the land.
