2023 Employee Representative Election Results

The election for the classified member of the State Civil Service Commission was concluded on March 1, 2023. The election was conducted in accordance with the provisions of Louisiana Revised Statutes 42:1351 et seq. and the administrative rules contained in LAC 40: XXVII. §101.


No candidate received at least thirty-five percent of the total votes cast in the election, therefore, a runoff election is necessary. 


The official results showing the number of votes cast for the candidates receiving the two highest numbers of votes the for the following office are:

% of Total Votes: 26.36%

Number of Votes: 806

% of Total Votes: 21.12%

Excellent Compliance Audits

State Civil Service would like to commend Lake Charles Housing Authority and South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority for a perfect Compliance Audit. These agencies achieved 100% compliance in all categories audited. 


Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Natural Resources, and Northwest Louisiana Human Services District are also to be commended for an excellent Compliance Audit. These agencies achieved 90% compliance or higher in all categories audited, had no areas of concern, and no major rule violations. 


The results received by these agencies show the value and importance of excellence they place on Civil Service rule compliance. They are to be commended for a job well done!

A paycheck can change your life, but a paycheck stub? Robert Boudreaux’s paycheck stub changed his life.


“I learned about the Compete LA program through my employer. I work full time as a master welder for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development,” said Boudreaux, of Sulphur. “On one of my pay stubs there was a message about the Compete LA program. I was interested in the information about the program, so I inquired about it and the rest is history.”

Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration

This commemorative ceremony will honor Louisiana's Vietnam Veterans and their family members. Vietnam Veterans will be the guests of honor at this historic event that will highlight their accomplishments and service to this country.


There will be a live band performing, Vietnam era static displays, and a free luncheon will take place. Guest speakers include Governor John Bel Edwards, LT. Governor Billy Nungesser, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, and Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Joey Strickland.
