We are reaching out to share the launch of State Fund’s Safety Equipment Grants Program which began November 1, 2023. The program provides $25 million in grants for eligible State Fund policyholders to purchase safety equipment for use in preventing workplace falls.
Policyholders with reported payroll in six governing class codes will be invited to apply for the funds—Roofing (5552, 5553), Sheet Metal (5538, 5542) and Carpentry (5403, 5432), and will receive an email application 45 days after their policy renews or incepts. Then they must apply within 60 days from the date of their invitation.
Eligible policyholders may receive up to $10,000 in grants to purchase safety equipment. The program will end when the funds are exhausted. These equipment grants are completely free and designed to help protect employees and prevent accidents. To qualify, policyholders must be in good standing, have at least one reported employee who works at a height of at least six feet, and must upload their existing IIPP or create a new one in State Fund’s IIPP Builder℠.
Policyholders who apply and meet the criteria will receive an email confirmation and a link to State Fund’s vendor catalog to shop for the equipment they need. Policyholders will receive a Form 1099-MISC and are responsible for any tax liabilities related to receiving a grant.
