Sky High Open Sunday
The Sky High Club will be open this Sunday, July 30
th for our normal hours of 12-4pm. Come and join us at the oldest Table Tennis Club in Colorado. We offer 12 tables and everyone at all levels of play are welcome.
Sky High Advance Training Program
Starting this Sunday, July 30
th
, Sky High will once again offer our Advanced Training Program. This program is designed for those players (1700+) who wish group training in a highly structured professional program. Coach Richard McAfee brings his many years of International Experience in conducting training programs in more than 30 countries to our Advanced Training Program.
The program is open to players over 1700 USATT Rating and will run on Sundays from 1:30-3:30 pm. Players wishing to join the program should be willing to be part of a team where everyone is pushing all members to become better. Players must also be able to take part in physical training which is part of this program.
Cost is $10 per session in addition to the normal daily playing fee.
2017 Rocky Mountain State Games
This year's State Games featured the strongest field of players in recent memory. The event was held at the YMCA in Colorado Springs. Once again, Larry Rose served as tournament direct and did his usual excellent job. This was Larry's 16 year at the helm of this event and he desires a big "Thank You" from every player in Colorado for his continued contributions to table tennis in our state.
There were lots of great matches to watch as members of the Sky High Club took home 12 medals in total. Manohar Karthikeyan took home the top event (Open Singles) and teamed with Vinay Chandra to also take Gold in the Open Doubles. Another stand out performer was new arrival to our club, Sina Khaledi, who took Gold in both the Junior -18 and the Under 2000 events. Perhaps the most exciting match and biggest upset of the tournament came as another new Sky High Member, Bogdan Malakhau, upset highly seeded Loi Pham in the Open Singles. Bogdan went on to take a well-deserved Bronze medal in that event. Another great match was a 5-game thriller as Basil Ibegbu (Sky High) defeated Angelo Gandullia (DTTA) in the final of the Over 40 Event. Basil also team-up with Bryant Patterson from Colorado Springs to take a Bronze in the Open Doubles.
This year's Rocky Mountain State Games was a great event for the State of Colorado. Congratulations to all the Medal Winners!
