The Bill to fund the State Lakes Preservation & Restoration Fund (SLPRF) has passed with amendments. Initially the funding for SLPRF was to be $3M/year for an indefinite period. As the Bill passed through the legislature it was amended such that the funding was reduced to $1M/year for only four years, after which it would "sunset" unless renewed. The funds become available on July 1, of 2019. At this point only an unlikely veto from the Governor would keep the Bill from becoming law.
Now that the SLPRF is funded, we will keep you posted on how it will be implemented as we learn more.
