STAR & Proficiency Events

Drops & Substitutions

If you have a team that will not be competing, please let us know by April 3rd at 12 p.m. CST. Substitutions can be made in the registration system, and drops can be emailed to [email protected]

Recognition Session

If you have a team or individual that places in the Top 5, they will sit in the reserved seating area of the Sunday morning recognition session. Seating opens at 8:25 a.m.

Competitive Event Schedules

The event schedules have been posted. They will be updated online after the substitution/drop deadline. An email will be sent once they have been updated and posted. The current schedules can be accessed on our SLC website: https://www.texasfccla.org/state-leadership-conference by clicking on the "State Competitive Event Schedules."

Please note that schedules will be updated again following the text check-in on the the day of competition. In the event of no-shows on the day of competition, the last assigned team in that category will be moved up to the dropped entry's spot. Please advise your competitors to check for the updated schedules on the event door after check-in time is complete.

On-Site Substitutions

If you need to substitute a competitor, you need to come by the headquarters room (De Le Salle in the West Wing of the Anatole) to complete the change and pay the $25 per student fee.

Check-In Procedure

Check-in will follow the same procedures as the regional conferences and can be found at the top of the schedules. Updates to the primary advisor and/or cell phone number in the national FCCLA portal by April 3rd at 12:00 p.m. CST.

Volunteer Policy

Based on the decision made by the Texas FCCLA Board of Directors and due to a shortage of volunteers, each Texas FCCLA chapter is required to provide (at minimum) one adult to serve as a conference volunteer during one day of the region and state conference. The volunteer can be the chapter advisor to serve as a Lead Consultant or another adult (not a chapter advisor) to serve as an Evaluator. Chapters who do not provide a conference volunteer or have a volunteer not show will be charged a fee of $150 and will be unable to participate with Texas FCCLA until paid.

We need evaluators willing to judge

Safety Information &

Hotel Etiquette

Advisors, please make sure that your students are aware of their surroundings and do not wander off alone.

Curfew has been set at 11:00 p.m. by the hotel. It is the local advisors responsibility to enforce this with their students.

Please ask your FCCLA members to show professional behavior at all times, especially when in public spaces of the hotel.

Also remind them that the hotel is public space and we are not the only group in the hotel. We want to demonstrate our professionalism and let the public see what good manners we teach our students.

Please do not allow your students to lay on the hotel floors and sleep between sessions or while waiting for their competitive event or other events.
