State of the Arts Meetings

The Nevada Arts Council has initiated a formal planning process to gather feedback from across the state. During our State of the Arts Meetings, we aim to investigate community assets and cultural treasures, as well as the needs and challenges facing each region. The results from our discussions will inform the agency on how it will utilize arts and creativity to help all Nevadans thrive.

The Nevada Arts Council Board and Staff invite and encourage you to participate in these statewide conversations. Please plan to attend one of our community meetings and make your voice heard.

The first of our in-person meetings wil bel today in Las Vegas. There is no cost but please register below to attend.

The Nevada Arts Council was established as a state agency in 1967 to enrich the cultural life of the state by supporting, strengthening, and making excellence in the arts accessible to all Nevadans. The Nevada Arts Council is one of America’s 56 state and jurisdictional arts agencies that ensure that every community in the U.S. receives the cultural, civic, economic, and educational benefits of the arts. The Nevada Arts Council supports Nevada’s rural communities, enlivens its public spaces, promotes health and healing, sparks economic growth, drives educational success, fosters inclusion and equity, reaches low income communities, creates opportunities for artists, and serves the public. The Nevada Arts Council, a division of the Department of Tourism and Cultural affairs, receives funding from the State of Nevada, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other private and public sources.

Major funding for the Nevada Arts Council is provided by the State of Nevada and the National Endowment for the Arts.
