Dear Curé Parishioners,
I pray that all of you are safe, healthy, and enjoying the beginning of Fall. I know many of you have been personally affected or loved ones affected by Covid-19. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
With the support of the Finance Council, it is with much gratitude that I present to you the State of the Parish for FY 2019-2020.Although we started the 19-20 fiscal year strong, the report will show that there has been some decline in the finances of the parish. The ordinary collections were 94% of the budgeted amount and 96% of prior year, returning us to the same income level of 16-17. While we did see a slight decrease in expenses, we ended the year in a deficit.
Looking ahead to the Budget for FY 20-21, collections is budgeted at $4,370,000. Through careful stewardship of our parish resources, we have reduced our expenses from prior year budget, however still anticipating a shortfall.
Each week we are blessed with the generosity of so many through the Sunday collection, EFT, mailed and personally delivered donations to the parish office. As each of you know, our bills continue to come and your financial commitment to the parish enables us to meet our responsibilities. Curé of Ars has always been a generous parish and I thank each of you for your commitment to seeing that our parish and school continue to have the things we need to continue our heavenly journey.
Prior to the pandemic, we kicked off our Faith, Hope and Charity Capital Campaign. Through the generosity of so many, we have received nearly $9 million in pledges of our $10.5 million goal.
As we continue to work together to fulfill our mission, I ask all to reflect on your individual commitment and prayerfully consider increasing your support. As a community we can reduce the shortfall and achieve our Faith, Hope and Charity goal.
Yours in Christ,
Father Storey
